Swim Pace Calculator
Calculate your swimming pace, speed, and estimated times for different distances based on your performance.
How to Use This Calculator
- Enter the distance you swam and select the unit (meters or yards)
- Input your swim time in minutes and seconds
- Select the pool length (25m/y or 50m)
- Choose your stroke type for more accurate analysis
- Click Calculate to see your pace, speed, and estimated times for different distances
Formula Used
Pace per 100 = Total Time ÷ (Distance ÷ 100)
Where:
- Total Time = Minutes × 60 + Seconds
- Distance = Distance swum in meters or yards
- Speed = Distance ÷ Total Time
Example Calculation
Real-World Scenario:
A swimmer completes 1500 meters in 25 minutes and 30 seconds. Let's calculate their pace and speed.
Given:
- Distance = 1500 meters
- Time = 25 minutes 30 seconds (1530 seconds)
Calculation:
Pace per 100m = 1530 ÷ (1500 ÷ 100) = 1530 ÷ 15 = 102 seconds (1:42)
Speed = 1500 ÷ 1530 = 0.98 m/s
Result: The swimmer's pace is 1:42 per 100m with a speed of 0.98 m/s
