How Total ACFT Score Is Calculated

The Total ACFT Score measures overall combat fitness by summing points earned across six specific physical tests. The calculation uses official Army standards found in FM 7-22 to ensure fairness across different demographics.

Score = Lookup(Gender, Age, Raw Performance)

Where:

  • Performance in each event is mapped to a point value between 0 and 100 based on your gender and age group.
  • This calculator uses interpolation to determine points for values that fall between the strict lines on the official tables.

First, the tool identifies the correct scoring scale for your specific gender and age group because physical standards vary by physiology. Next, it converts your raw results—like how much you lifted or how fast you ran—into points using the Army's tables. If your result falls between two listed numbers, the tool uses linear interpolation to find your exact score. Finally, it adds the points from all six events to determine your total. This method ensures accurate results aligned with current Army regulations.

What Your Total ACFT Score Means

Your score indicates whether you meet Army physical requirements and which jobs you can qualify for. It is not just a number; it determines your career path and training status.

Passing the Test

You need a minimum total of 360 points to pass, but you must also score at least 60 points in every single event. Failing just one event results in a failure, regardless of your total score.

Heavy MOS Qualification

To qualify for the most physically demanding jobs, like Infantry or Special Forces, you typically need a score of 540 or higher. This shows you have elite-level strength and endurance.

Significant MOS Qualification

Scores between 480 and 539 often qualify you for roles like Combat Medics that require high fitness but slightly less raw power than heavy roles.

Important Note

Scoring well above 360 provides a safety buffer and improves promotion potential. Always aim for the highest score possible to keep your options open.

Use this calculator regularly to track improvements and ensure you stay above the minimum standard in all events.
