Zepbound Protein Calculator
Estimate your daily protein needs while using Zepbound (tirzepatide) to support muscle retention and weight-loss goals. Provides both per-day protein targets and easy per-meal guidance.
How to Use This Calculator
- Enter your weight and select the unit.
- Choose your activity level and primary goal.
- Enter your Zepbound weekly dose for context (does not change the formula).
- Click Calculate to see recommended protein per day and per meal.
Formula Used
Protein (g/day) = body_mass_for_calc_kg × protein_factor × slider_multiplier
Where:
- body_mass_for_calc_kg = weight in kg (or estimated lean body mass if selected)
- protein_factor = chosen factor based on activity & goal (range 1.2–2.0 g/kg)
- slider_multiplier = 0.9, 1.0, or 1.15 depending on the slider (lower/normal/higher emphasis)
Example Calculation
Real-World Scenario:
John weighs 90 kg, is moderately active and wants to lose weight while preserving muscle. Recommended protein factor = 1.6 g/kg, slider at Normal (1.0).
Given:
- Weight = 90 kg
- Protein factor = 1.6 g/kg
- Slider multiplier = 1.0
Calculation:
Protein = 90 × 1.6 × 1.0 = 144 g/day
Result: 144 g protein per day (≈ 48 g per meal if 3 meals/day)
